Finding Your Purpose
What did you want to do when you were a kid?
Let me tell you about this guy in the picture (me).
I recently found this picture of me, age 12, about to win the Scottish junior Big Air.
(A category they had to create just for me because I was the youngest there by about 6 years)
All I wanted to do was ski. My dream was to have my own ski brand called ‘Cold Fusion’
In my career I’ve never actually made snowsports gear, but I have made gym clothing, golf equipment, backpacks and now work in FMCG.
But on reflection, I think my purpose was always to ‘make’ something that I’m passionate about and share it with the world. To create excitement and make life fun.
Whenever I’ve felt lost or stuck in my career/life I’ve gone back to the things I love and what gives me energy.
Hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
If you’re stuck or not sure what to do next, try going back to the beginning and remember what you loved doing.
Passion, plus action, will almost always lead to your purpose.
